As part of the special edition of the “Sundays on Cycle” campaign organized under the Fit India Mission with the theme “Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)”, the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell, SRM IST, in association with the Directorate of Sports, conducted a cycling rally on 14 June 2026.
The event was flagged off by Mr. Sameer Poorkar, Associate Director, ITKM, MSL. Students, faculty members, and staff actively participated in the rally. The event promoted fitness, healthy living, and awareness about the objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Thirumuguran, Associate Director, Campus Life, and Dr. Mohanakrishnan, Director, Directorate of Sports. On behalf of UBA, the programme was organized by Mr. N.S.Sridhar, Sanitary Inspector, and Dr. S. Ramya, Associate Professor, LCS, along with Mr. Raju and his team from the Directorate of Sports, SRM IST.
The successful conduct of the event reflected SRM IST's continuous efforts to promote health, fitness, and environmental consciousness among its students and stakeholders. The programme was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from the SRM community.
