       SRMIST Organizes Voter Awareness Rally to Promote 100% Participation

Kattankulathur, April 2, 2026:
In an effort to promote 100% voter participation in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), in collaboration with Maraimalai Nagar Municipality, organized a voter awareness rally on April 2, 2026.

The rally was conducted under the joint initiative of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, NSS, NCC, Green Club, and the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 900 students, covering a distance of 4.5 km.

The rally was inaugurated by the Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Narayanan, along with Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director – Campus Life and Nodal Officer, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, SRMIST. Participants carried placards, raised impactful slogans, and performed street plays to create awareness among the public about the importance of voting.

The programme was attended by Mr. Sivamurugan, Sanitary Inspector; Mr. Selvaraj, Sanitary Officer; Dr. Bhuvaneswari, Health Officer, Maraimalai Nagar Municipality; Dr. Pradeep, Assistant Director (Student Affairs); Mr. Sridhar, Sanitary Officer, SRMIST; and the faculty coordinator for social engineering, who actively supported the initiative.

Faculty members of NSS and NCC, along with students from the Department of Social Work, FSH, FMHS & FET, contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the rally.
