Bharat Abhiyan SRMIST has conducted
free medical camp in kolathur adopted village on 05-04-2023 Wednesday as part
of celebrating Upcoming World Health day of the year 2023. Camp was conducted
at the Shiva temple at Venbakkam of Kolathur panchayat which is easily

Camp started by morning 10.00am. This camp is totally team work which consist of
medical and health professionals from various departments of SRM hospital
.Totally 18 team members, This General medical
camp comprise of Optometry
with general eye checkup and those who need special attention and care were
referred to the department of ophthalmology , Pediatrics, General
Medicine, Dermatology Checkup were carried out in presence of
Dr.V.Thirumurugan., Associate Director (CL) & Nodal Officer UBA/SBM-SRMIST
. Totally 90 people undergone general health checkup 19 male, 69 females, 1
male child and 1 female child. All are treated
with free consultation, medication,
diagnosis. Patients who need further and regular checkup and treatments were referred to SRM general hospital
provided with free treatment card. Free
food is being given
when coming for treatment in
hospital. This regular camping will improve the health status of the village
members and very helpful for the early detection, diagnosis and also the
treatment or therapeutic procedures. People who needs medical care were
referred to the respective departments and go through detailed evaluation and

DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL NUTRITION AND DIETETICS WORLD HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION APRIL 2023

Nutrition Awareness and Counselling
programme on Healthy diet was organized by the department of Clinical Nutrition
and Dietetics in commemoration of World Health Day 2023 in association with
UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN 2.0, SRM Institute of Science and Technology at Panchayat
Union Middle School, Kolathur village , S.P.Kovil ,Chengalpattu on 05.04.2023.

Final year B.Sc. Clinical nutrition and
Dietetics students displayed educational charts and conducted games in
accordance to the theme such as healthy eating habits, balanced diet, immunity,
importance of micro nutrient, ill effect of junk foods and hand washing
techniques to the students and faculties. Video content was streamed for
students to make them understand about the healthy eating habits.

Dr. K.Silambu selvi gave Nutritional counselling
session to the audience and made it an interactive session. Impact of
micronutrient deficiencies were enacted  by the students through skit and it was
thoroughly enjoyed by the school students and faculties. The entire programme
was highly appreciated and received exemplary feed back by the head master, school
students and the teachers for the performance by our students. The school
students also presented their skills and displayed their potential. The program
