REPORT ON BLOOD DONATION CAMP
1. Title of the Event: Blood Donation Camp
2. Date: 10th February 2026
3. Venue: Mechanical Hanger, Main Campus, SRM Institute of Science and
Technology, Kattankulathur.
4. Organised By: NSS UNIT 1, Department of
Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur
in association with the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Centre,
SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.
Introduction:
A Blood Donation Camp was successfully conducted on 10th
February 2026 at Mechanical Hanger with the objective of promoting
voluntary blood donation and creating awareness about the importance of
donating blood to save lives. The camp aimed to encourage students, staff, and research
scholars to contribute towards a noble cause. The Department of Transfusion
Medicine and Blood Centre, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, is
known for conducting voluntary blood donation camps and awareness drives
regularly.
Objectives of the Camp:

To collect blood for patients in
need and emergency cases.
·
To promote awareness about the
importance of voluntary blood donation.
·
To motivate people to become regular
blood donors.
·
To support hospitals and blood banks
in maintaining adequate blood supply.
Camp Procedure and Activities:
The camp was conducted in an organized manner. The process
included:
Step 1: Registration - Donors registered their details at the
registration counter.
Step 2: Medical Screening- Doctors conducted preliminary health
check-ups including:
Blood Pressure, Hemoglobin test, Weight check and General health
evaluation.
Step 3: Blood Collection - Eligible donors donated blood under the
supervision of qualified doctors and nurses.
Step 4: Refreshments - After donating blood, donors were provided
with refreshments such as Juice, Biscuits, Water.
Step 5: Certificates - Donors were issued appreciation certificates
by the organizing committee.
All necessary safety precautions were followed, and donors were
guided properly by doctors and volunteers.
The camp received an overwhelming response from students, teaching
staff, non-teaching staff, and members of the local community. Many donors
actively participated and showed enthusiasm to support the cause.
A total of 60 donors registered, out of which 52 donors
successfully donated blood. The collected
blood units were safely stored and handed over to the blood bank for further
medical use.

smooth functioning, the following arrangements were made:

throughout the camp

Volunteers for guidance and support

Refreshments such as juice,
biscuits, and fruits for donors
Outcome:
The Blood Donation Camp held on 10th February 2026 was a great
success. It helped in collecting valuable blood units that can save many lives.
The event also created awareness about the importance of blood donation and
encouraged people to take part in such humanitarian activities. The organizers
expressed gratitude to the medical team, volunteers, and all donors for their
valuable contribution.
