done by the UBA-SRMIST team for the villages in different sectors, such as schools’
infrastructure, free education, women entrepreneurship, solid waste management,
water conservation, skill training, tree plantation, personal hygiene, medical
and healthcare for the betterment of the society. emphasized that reaching out

Dean of Agricultural Sciences, insisted the village farmers shift to scientific
farming instead of conventional methods, roof-gardening to cultivate
vegetables, thereby increasing the profit from an acre of land and minimizing
the pollution and soil degradation due to chemicals. SRM College of Agricultural
Sciences always welcomes farmers to consult free of cost and suggests selective
agricultural practices for their villages. The continued support and sustained
efforts will ensure the villages become model communities, inspiring similar
initiatives nationwide. The community's active participation in implementing

firmly believes that providing quality education could leverage the country’s overall
development. He assured that SRMIST would render techno-economic assistance to
the village community. He insisted that SRMIST keeps thriving for rural
employment and skill development of youngsters in electrical, carpentry, plumbing,
soft computer skills, etc. SRMIST is always keen on promoting numerous fruitful
activities toward the sustainable development of villages and, subsequently,

feedback on the activities of UBA-SRMIST towards the village upliftment. The participants
expressed that the UBA-SRMIST-adopted villages have significantly improved
rural life by implementing welfare schemes. They further stated that UBA-SRMIST
initiatives had enhanced infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare,
and women empowerment, leading to upliftment. The welfare schemes implemented
in these villages have significantly contributed to uplifting and improving
rural communities. They have given their requirements and for further

to provide medical services to people who do not have access due to financial
or geographical constraints. The present medical camps also aimed to promote
health education and awareness among the population, including preventive
measures and health-seeking behavior. Totally 56 residents of Anjur village
attended the physiotherapy camp. Patients availed of free consultation,
diagnosis and treatment in the medical camp. Physical therapy and
rehabilitation activities aimed to enhance the quality of life for underprivileged
people. Health conditions and therapy details were primarily highlighted during
the counseling sessions. The chance to receive clinical physiotherapy training
was also available to students during the camp. Our periodical medical camps
play a vital role in improving the health of underserved populations and can
lead to improved health outcomes and increased health awareness. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

witnessed based on careful planning, the collaboration between healthcare
providers and community members, and effective implementation of the services.
It is vital to continue organizing medical camps in underserved areas to

helps to maintain the ecological balance and combat climate change. Anjur
village is a rural area in India facing environmental degradation due to deforestation,
soil erosion, and declining water resources. In response to this problem, a
tree plantation drive was initiated in Anjur village to promote reforestation
and improve the environment. The Tree Plantation at the Anjur village followed
the medical camp. The Headmaster of the Government Higher Secondary School,
Anjur, supported planting 40 saplings around the school campus. All the members
have actively taken part in tree plantation. The tree plantation drive in Anjur
village has been a success, thanks to the collaboration between various
stakeholders and the active involvement of the local community. The program has
contributed to the ecological balance and improved the environment in the
region. It is essential to continue this effort and expand it to other areas to
achieve the goal of sustainable development.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Balamurugan, Deputy
Medical Superintendent, Professor of surgery and Consultant Laparoscopic
surgeon, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre delivered his lecture
on PHYSCIAL HEALTH, where he covered the scientific background of the virus,
disease transmission, symptoms, possible treatment options, preventive
measures, role of Government in disease control, vaccination drives, and
scientific aspects of different vaccines. He reiterated that only through
public support by adopting 3 MANTRAS wearing mask, frequent hand wash and
personal hygiene could be the best way for us to overcome this distress
situation. This session ended with Q&A session, participants come up with
lot of questions, and experts clearly explained and clarified their queries on
COVID, vaccines and symptoms.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 13pt; line-height: 107%;">Followed by session 1,
Ms. A. Thendralarasi, Consultant psychologist, TNPA has delivered her talk from
the prescriptive of MENTAL HEALTH. The session has lot of interaction with the
participant and has exercise to get relief from stress, anxiety and depression
during the lockdown across all ages. She gave some mental exercise, physical
stress busters and ways to create positive environment through interaction with
kith and kins. She clearly explained the need for mental stability during this
hour and clarified the queries of the participants. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 13pt; line-height: 107%;">Finally, the webinar
ended with vote of thanks by Dr. B. Samuel Jacob, Asst. Prof. (Biotech.),
SRMIST. He thanked the speakers for their valuable time and giving an in
detailed information on physical and mental health as the participants felt it
more positive. He acknowledged the office bearers of Institution of Engineers
(India), Dr. S Dhanalakshmi, Honorary Secretary and Dr.P.T.Ravichandran,
Chairman for their valuable support in the conduct of this awareness webinar.
