SRM Institute of Science and Technology, through SRM Muthucharam Community Radio 90.4 MHz, in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, successfully organized the National Girl Child Day Celebration on 23rd January 2026 at the Panchayat Union Middle School, Ninnaikari Village, Chengalpattu District.
The programme commenced at 9.30 AM with a welcome address, highlighting the significance of National Girl Child Day and emphasizing the importance of girls’ education in shaping a progressive society. The event aimed to motivate girl students to dream big and pursue education with confidence and determination.
Special sessions titled “Dream Big, Little Girl” and “Girls in Education, Girls in Innovation” were conducted, during which the resource persons addressed the students on the role of education, innovation, self-confidence, and leadership in empowering girl children. The talks were inspiring and encouraged students to overcome challenges and aspire for a brighter future.
As part of the programme, felicitation and gift distribution were carried out to appreciate and motivate the girl students. The students actively participated and expressed enthusiasm throughout the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the school authorities, teachers, organizers, and participants. Refreshments were served to all attendees. Overall, the event was highly impactful and successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting awareness about the importance of girl child education and empowerment.
