Republic Day Event Report-2026

2. Objectives of the Event
The objective of the outreach program was to commemorate Republic Day 2026 by engaging government school students through meaningful educational and interactive activities. The program aimed to enhance cognitive thinking, teamwork, patriotism, and social awareness among students while strengthening the bond between SRM IST and the adopted village under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. It also sought to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a positive learning attitude among young minds.
3. About the Event (Description)
The Department of Biomedical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, successfully conducted a Republic Day Outreach Camp on 28th January 2026 at Orathur village, an adopted village of SRM IST.
The program commenced at 9:30 AM with a warm welcome extended to all guests, faculty members, school authorities, and students. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. P. Muthu, Dr. T. Deepa (Convenors) and coordinated by Dr. T. Jayanthi and Dr. N. Prasanna Venkatesh, with active support from seven department student volunteers, who enthusiastically conducted the activities and interacted with the children throughout the day.
The event was formally inaugurated by the Head of the Department, Dr. U. Snekhalatha, in recognition of their efforts and commitment towards community engagement.

Balance Ball Game
Republic Day–Themed Quiz
Focused on Indian Constitution, national symbols, freedom fighters, and patriotism
Encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and awareness of national values
Hand Painting Activity
Promoted creativity, unity, and togetherness among students
All activities were designed to be interactive and inclusive, ensuring maximum participation and engagement.
Distribution of Hampers and Refreshments
A total of 95 students were provided with hampers
Refreshments were also served to all participants, contributing to the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere.
The entire program was conducted in a joyful spirit, with students actively participating, learning, and expressing their creativity. The event successfully upheld the true spirit of Republic Day through education, interaction, and community bonding.
