FUN WITH FITNESS (Celebrating Children’s Day Through Physical Activity and Wellness) Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November in India to honour the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The day highlights the importance of nurturing, educating, and empowering children, as they are the future of the nation. Schools and institutions across the country organize special programmes, activities, and events to celebrate children, promote their well-being, and encourage their overall growth and happiness. To mark this occasion, SRM Muthucharam Community Radio, in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, organized an outreach activity FUN WITH FITNESS - Celebrating Children’s Day Through Physical Activity and Wellness at Panchayat Union Middle School, Anjur. FUN WITH FITNESS Outreach Activity organized by SRM Muthucharam Community Radio in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 commenced at 10:00 AM with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Dr. T. Kalaivani, Station Manager, who highlighted the objectives of the initiative and the importance of promoting health and wellness among school children. At 10:10 AM, the main session titled “Fit Feet and Strong Bones – An Interactive Activity Session” was conducted by Dr. M. Anbupriya, Associate Professor, SRM College of Physiotherapy. This engaging session focused on simple physical exercises and awareness activities aimed at enhancing children’s physical fitness, strength, and overall well-being. The interactive nature of the session encouraged active participation from students and helped them understand the value of regular physical activity right from a young age. The programme proceeded to a brief Felicitation at 11:10 AM, acknowledging the contributions of the resource persons and supporting members who made the event possible. Following this, the Vote of Thanks was delivered at 11:15 AM by Dr. R. M. Hariharan, Deputy Station Manager, expressing gratitude to the organizers, school authorities, speakers, and participants for their cooperation and enthusiasm. The event concluded with Refreshments served at 11:20 AM, allowing participants to interact informally and reflect on the activities. The programme was smoothly coordinated by Mr. S. Thairiyaraj, Program Executive, who served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Overall, the outreach activity successfully combined celebration with meaningful engagement, promoting health awareness and interactive learning among children in the community.
