1. Circuit
to Canvas: E-Waste Wall Murals — A Mission LiFE Initiative @ SRMIST
The SRM Institute of Science and
Technology (SRMIST), in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA),
the SRM Green Club, School of Computing, and CINTEL,
successfully organized the event “Circuit to Canvas: E-Waste Wall Murals”
on 15 September 2025 under the theme of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for
Environment).
The initiative brought together
students, artists, and innovators to creatively transform discarded computer
peripherals into large-scale wall murals, demonstrating the Mission LiFE
principle of turning waste into wealth through mindful and sustainable
practices. By repurposing components such as motherboards, RAM sticks,
cables, processors, and keyboards, participants produced visually striking
artworks that seamlessly blended technology, sustainability, and creativity.
Each mural portrayed powerful
themes such as Digital Evolution, Sustainable Futures, and Tech
Meets Nature, encouraging viewers to rethink the environmental impact of
e-waste and embrace upcycling as a path toward sustainable living.
The event was coordinated by Dr.
Bakkialakshmi V. S. from the Department of Computing Technologies
and Ms. Grace Ansica A. from the School of Architecture and Interior
Design, whose dedicated efforts ensured meaningful engagement and
collaboration among participants.
The best artworks are now permanently
displayed across the SRM campus, serving as enduring reminders of responsible
innovation, environmental awareness, and the Mission LiFE vision of adopting
sustainable lifestyles.
