GRAM SABHA MEETING
UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN 2.O (UBA-SRMIST)

Venue: Neelamangalam, Orathur Panchayat,
Kundrathur Block, Kanchipuram Dt.
People eagerly participated and interacted in the Gram Sabha meeting, which was held after a long-time gap. Village women and youngsters eagerly participated and raised the problem faced in the village during the meeting. The newly elected Panchayat president lead this meeting so that the people discussed their prior problems. SRMIST village coordinators also participated in the meeting.
Many problems were brought out through discussion. A few of these are as follows:
v Detailed description of Village Panchayat administration and public Expenditure.

To help implementation of the development programs
and schemes of the Panchayat.
v
To identify beneficiaries for different programs
and schemes.
v
Sanitation
(Maintenance of School toilets and Anganwadi Centre Toilets)
v
Nutrition
Movement (Improving the health and Personal health of women and Children)
v
Prohibition
of Production of plastic products ( Single
use plastic reduction)
v
Women’s
Program (Improving the livelihood of women)
v A Special Thanks to Dr.Paarivendhar (Founder Chancellor SRMIST): A free Education seat as a part of Paarivendhar Free Education Trust was allotted to the orathur village student Ms. K. Rajeswari based on the merit list who is studying at SRM Arts and Science College, Kattankulathur.
