<p>  MEDICAL CAMP – CHETTIPUNIYAM VILLAGE</p><p style="text-align: justify;">As part of the <b>Hon'ble Chancellor's Birthday Celebrations</b>, <b>SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST)</b>, under the aegis of <b>Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)</b>, in association with the <b>Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre</b>, successfully organized a <b>Free Medical Camp and welfare scheme distribution at Chettipunniyam Village on 18 August 2026</b>. Eye examinations were also conducted for beneficiaries requiring ophthalmic evaluation, while patients identified with conditions requiring advanced medical care were counselled and referred to <b>SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre</b> for further treatment and follow-up.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Students of the <b>Tamil Perayan Paari Manavar Narpani Mandram</b> actively volunteered throughout the programme by assisting in beneficiary registration, patient guidance, queue management, documentation, and coordination of various camp activities, contributing significantly to the smooth and efficient conduct of the medical camp.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The medical camp received an <b>overwhelming response from the local community</b>, with more than <b>250 villagers</b> benefiting from the free consultations, diagnostic services, health screening, eye examinations, and medicines. The initiative played a vital role in promoting preventive healthcare, early detection of diseases, and awareness of healthy lifestyle practices among the rural population.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The successful conduct of the Free Medical Camp at <b>Chettipunniyam Village</b> demonstrated SRMIST's continued commitment to community engagement and rural healthcare through the <b>Unnat Bharat Abhiyan</b> initiative.
