Eat Right Challenge – Awareness Programme

Introduction

The Department of Food Process Engineering, School of Bioengineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, organized an “Eat Right Challenge – Awareness Programme” for school students. The initiative was conducted with the aim of promoting healthy eating habits among young learners and encouraging them to make informed dietary choices.


Objective

The primary objective of the awareness programme was to sensitize school students (aged 13–18 years) on the importance of nutrition, balanced diets, and food safety. The session highlighted the role of healthy food practices in building immunity, enhancing concentration, and preventing lifestyle-related health issues.


Programme Details

  • Date & Venue: Conducted at a local school in collaboration with SRMIST.

  • Target Group: School students aged 13 to 18 years.

  • Organizers: Faculty and research scholars from the Department of Food Process Engineering.

  • Activities Conducted:

    • Awareness talks on the importance of balanced nutrition.

    • Interactive sessions on identifying healthy and unhealthy food choices.
