The Department
of Food Process Engineering at SRMIST Kattankulathur conducted an outreach
programme on Eat Right Challenge
Awareness Programme for School students. The outreach activity was
conducted at Singaperumal Kovil Government Higher Secondary School along with
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, SRM IST l on
19th January 2024 from 2:30pm onwards.
Approximately 200 enthusiastic school students were actively participated in a
day filled with enlightening activities. The event, gracefully presided over by
Head Mistress Mrs. Lalitha, featured
a lineup activities including discussions on the Food Pyramid, simple Adulteration
detection methods, FSSAI's Pink Book and a session on selecting the Right
Processed Food. The demonstration was given by 1st year M Tech (Food Safety and Quality
Management and Food and Nutritional Biotechnology) students who flawlessly
conducted these informative demonstrations followed by quiz.
The winners were recognized with certificate
and medals at end of the event by Head Mistress, Teachers, Social workers and
SRM IST members.
