Unnat Bharat Abhiyan SRMIST in Association with SRM Medical college hospital and research center organized a comprehensive out reach medical camp on 5th Mar 2026 at Anjur village

The primary objective of the camp was to provide accessible healthcare services to the rural population, along with promoting awareness regarding hygiene and preventive healthcare practices. The camp was organized at Anjur new village from 9.00am to 2 pm with the support of a dedicated team comprising 18 doctors, 8 Nurses/staff, and 10 volunteers.The event was honored by the presence of chief guests  Dr.V.Thirumurugan..Associate Director (CL).,Nodal officer UBA-SRMIST. Mrs.Selvi Devaraj.,Panchayat President ,Mr.V.Umamageswaran.,VSP Joint Director, Mr.Selvakumar.,Trust Secretary, Mr.Rahothaman.,VP/VSP  &  ward members. 

 


During the camp, various services were provided, including general health check-ups, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, basic consultations, and distribution of free medicines. Health awareness sessions were also conducted to educate villagers on personal hygiene, nutrition, and prevention of common diseases.


A total of 50 beneficiaries attended the camp, including men, women, and children. The most commonly observed health issues included fever, hypertension, diabetes, skin infections, and nutritional deficiencies. Necessary medicines were distributed free of cost based on medical evaluation.


 

The camp received an encouraging response from the villagers and proved to be beneficial, particularly for those with limited access to healthcare facilities. It contributed significantly to early diagnosis and improved awareness among the rural population.
