The initiative aimed to raise awareness among school children about healthy and unhealthy food habits, promote nutritional literacy, and encourage students to make informed dietary choices through creative and practical learning activities.

Day 1 – Drawing Competition (13th October 2025)

The first day of the programme featured a Drawing Competition on the theme “Healthy Food vs Junk Food.” Students from various classes enthusiastically participated, expressing their understanding of healthy eating through art. The creative artworks highlighted the differences between nutritious and junk food, showcasing the students’ awareness and imagination.

Faculty members and student volunteers from SRMIST guided the participants and interacted with them throughout the session, making it both educational and enjoyable.

Day 2 – Awareness Demonstrations and Prize Distribution (14th October 2025)

The second day included interactive demonstrations and awareness sessions focusing on the ill effects of junk food. Experiments demonstrated the oil content, artificial coloring, and preservatives in processed foods, helping students understand the impact of their food choices.

Resource persons from the School of Public Health conducted engaging sessions on balanced nutrition, hand hygiene, and healthy lifestyle habits. Students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their food preferences.

The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of the drawing competition were felicitated for their efforts, and all participants received words of encouragement for their creativity and enthusiasm.
