An Awareness rally organised for Ban on Single-Use Plastic under My India project in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan-SRMIST & UHV cell on 11th March 2023. The 32 Students & 8 faculties from science stream B.Sc (Physics, Chemistry & Math) were participated. The march aimed to make people aware of the demerits of plastic and polythene use.
On 11.03.2023 (Saturday) afternoon began with cheer and enthusiasm students marched from Dental college ground to boys hostel via food court here educating the shop keepers on plastic ban. The rally witnessed placards and signboards suggesting affordable alternatives to plastic. SRMIST - Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Nodal officer Dr.V.Thirumurugan, who organized & flagged off the rally. An Awareness created through students slogan that all shops inside campus use alternative to plastic items (i.e. plastic plates, plastic carry bags, plastic straws, plastic tumblers etc.)
