“WATER IS LIFE, TREAT IT RIGHT” 

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 SRMIST has conducted a lake cleaning programme on 22nd march 2023 as part of celebrating World water day 2023. Programme started at evening 3:00pm at Potheri Lake. 



The programme started with a water conservation pledge by all the team members.  NCC Students, Staffs and maintenance team were the team members of the programme. 



The programme focused on the cleaning of lake and its surroundings. Team has worked about 4 hours to cover whole surrounding starting from GST road to Valliammai campus lake sides. Plastic wastes, glass materials and other litters handpicked by wearing gloves and other waste picking materials. 





About 150 kg of wastes collected by the team. It was a great event to promote about the conservation of water and also created awareness about stop water pollution. Conserving and keeping our water bodies and reservoirs pollution free is must for the future generation to live a happy and safe life. Collected wastes has been segregated and were taken for recycling process.

At the end of the programme the team members provided with refreshment and done with the event

Such initiatives not only improve the quality of our surroundings but also increase public awareness of the significance of water conservation. Bravo to UBA-SRMIST for planning such a significant World Water Day 2023 event.
