<p> <strong style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Empowering Rural Women through Entrepreneurship and Campus Collaboration</strong></p><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><p><strong>Date:</strong> 30th July – 1st August 2025<br /><strong>Venue:</strong> Near Tech Park, SRMIST Campus</p><p>The <strong>Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell</strong> of <strong>SRM Institute of Science and Technology</strong>, in association with the <strong>Tamil Nadu Urban Livelihoods Mission (TNULM)</strong>, the <b>Tamil</b><strong> Nadu Corporation for Women’s Development, </strong>and the <strong>Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj</strong>, successfully organized a <strong>three-day College Bazaar</strong> from <strong>30th July to 1st August 2025</strong>.</p><p>The event was <strong>inaugurated by Dr. Shivganesh Bhargava</strong>, Dean, School of Management, in the presence of <b>Dr.</b><strong> V. Thirumurugan</strong>, Associate Director (Campus Life), SRMIST, and <strong>Ms. Emilly Priya</strong>, Assistant Project Officer (APO), Chengalpattu District – <em>Mahalir Thittam</em>, Government of Tamil Nadu.</p><p>Women from various <strong>Self Help Groups (SHGs)</strong> representing <strong>UBA–SRMIST adopted villages</strong> showcased a vibrant range of rural products. The <span class="il">stalls</span> featured:</p><ul><li style="margin-left: 15px;"><p><strong>Nursery and garden items</strong></p></li><li style="margin-left: 15px;"><p><strong>Garments and hand-stitched clothes</strong></p></li><li style="margin-left: 15px;"><p><strong>Homemade herbal soaps</strong></p></li><li style="margin-left: 15px;"><p><strong>Traditional sweets and snacks</strong></p></li><li style="margin-left: 15px;"><p><strong>Eco-friendly household products</strong></p></li><li style="margin-left: 15px;"><p><strong>Handicrafts and decorative items</strong></p></li></ul><p>The event witnessed <strong>active participation from students and faculty</strong>, who visited the <span class="il">stalls</span> and supported the women entrepreneurs by purchasing their products.</p><p>Speaking on the occasion, <strong>Dr. Shivganesh Bhargava</strong> highlighted the importance of nurturing rural entrepreneurship. Cycle Rally by UBA-SRMIST on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025

<p> <strong style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Kattankulathur, July 26, 2025:</strong></p><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><div dir="ltr"><h3><p>As part of the observance of the <strong>International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025</strong>, the <strong>Unnat Bharat Abhiyan – SRM Institute of Science and Technology (UBA-SRMIST)</strong> organized an impactful <strong>Cycle Rally</strong> to promote awareness on <strong>drug abuse prevention, treatment, and healthy living</strong> among students and the community.</p><p>The <span class="il">rally</span> was <strong>inaugurated by Dr. Senthil Selvan</strong>, <strong>Professor, Department of Civil Engineering</strong>, and <strong>Coordinator of the Anti-Drug Committee</strong>, who addressed the participants and flagged off the event. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of <strong>community-driven efforts</strong> in combating drug abuse and fostering a culture of wellness and resilience among the youth.</p><p>The event was <strong>presided over by Dr. V. Thirumurugan</strong>, <strong>Associate Director (Campus Life)</strong> and <strong>Nodal Officer, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan</strong>, who also <strong>distributed participation certificates</strong> to the students, faculty, and staff who successfully completed the <span class="il">rally</span>.</p><p>The <span class="il">rally</span> began at <strong>6:00 AM from the Clock Tower Circle</strong> and proceeded to <strong>SRM Care Farm at Gudalur</strong>, where breakfast was arranged for all participants, followed by the return ride to the campus.</p><p>The program concluded with a <strong>Vote of Thanks</strong> by <strong>Ms. Irene Sampath</strong>, <strong>Research Associate, School of Public Health (SPH)</strong>, who acknowledged the enthusiastic participation and the coordinated efforts of all departments and organizers.</p><p>This year’s <span class="il">rally</span> was conducted under the global theme:<br /><img alt="🎗️" aria-label="🎗️" class="an1" data-emoji="🎗️" draggable="false" loading="lazy" src="https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/notoemoji/16.0/1f397_fe0f/72.png" style="height: 1.2em;
