The Head of Department and faculties from Center for Environmental Nuclear Research and a group of enthusiastic IT students from SRM Institute of Science & Technology visited Anjur village, Kattankulathur block on 19 February 2019 to study the living conditions of people and possibility of implementing small-scale start-ups that suits the needs of the villagers.
The team listened to the day-to-day problems faced by the villagers, especially the Scheduled Tribes living as one community in one street at Irular Colony. The team inspected the land area and the scope for growing land-based produce.
They visited Anjur Higher Secondary School and interacted with the students and teachers to identify their learning interests. Based on the identified needs, the SRM IT students will come up with project proposals for Smart Classrooms and e-learning methods.
They also visited the Panchayat Office before leaving the village.
