The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and NSS volunteers, all joining hands to raise awareness about the dangers of single-use plastics. A key highlight was the collective recitation of the “Single-Use Plastic-Free Campus Pledge,” where participants committed to:

  • Refusing single-use plastic items such as straws, bags, cutlery, and packaging

  • Carrying reusable bags, bottles, cups, and containers

  • Avoiding plastic-wrapped produce and sachets

  • Raising awareness among peers and family

  • Responsibly sorting and recycling waste

  • Participating actively in SRMIST's recycling initiatives

  • Choosing products that are reusable, refillable, or repairable

This pledge reaffirmed our commitment to sustainability and echoed SRMIST’s vision of fostering a plastic-free, environmentally conscious campus.

We extend our sincere thanks to all faculty, staff, NSS coordinators, and student volunteers who helped make this event a great success.
