An Outreach Programme on Speech and Drawing Competition on account of Republic Day was organized by SRMIST, EEE department in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) team at the UBA adopted village, Chettipunniyam on 31.01.2025.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering -SRMIST, in collaboration with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, is organizing a Speech and Drawing Competition on the occasion of Republic Day for the children of our adopted village school in Chettipunniyam village. This initiative aims to instill a sense of patriotism among young minds while providing them with a platform to express their thoughts and creativity. Through this event, students will get the opportunity to showcase their talents in public speaking and art, enhancing their confidence and communication skills. The event was proudly supported by Muthucharam Radio, SRMIST, which played a key role in promoting and enhancing the reach of the Speech and Drawing Competition. Their support helped in spreading awareness about the initiative, ensuring greater community engagement and participation.

The speech competition will encourage students to articulate their views on themes related to Republic Day, national values, and India’s progress. This will help them develop their oratory skills, critical thinking, and understanding of the country’s rich history and democratic principles. On the other hand, the drawing competition will allow children to depict their vision of India through artistic expression. By using colors and creativity, they will portray themes of freedom, unity, and cultural diversity, fostering a deeper appreciation for the nation's heritage.

This event is part of SRMIST’s ongoing efforts under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan to engage with local communities and contribute to the holistic development of young students. By organizing such initiatives, we aim to inspire children, encourage learning beyond textbooks, and strengthen the bond between the institute and the community. The competition will not only celebrate Republic Day but also nurture young minds, empowering them with confidence and a sense of national pride.
