உலகப் புகையிலை எதிர்ப்பு தினம் நிகழ்ச்சி - 2024

 

30.05.2024 அன்று காட்டாங்குளத்தூர், எஸ்.ஆர்.எம். அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்வி நிறுவனம் , உன்னத் பாரத் அபியான் மற்றும் தமிழ்ப்பேராயம் - பாரிவேந்தர் மாணவர் தமிழ் மன்றம் சார்பில்  உலகப் புகையிலை எதிர்ப்பு தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு இணையவழியில் கவிதை மற்றும் பேச்சுப் போட்டி நடத்தப்பட்டது. தமிழ்ப்பேராயத்தின் தலைவர் கலைமாமணி முனைவர் கரு. நாகராசன் அவர்கள் போட்டிகளை தொடங்கிவைத்து நோக்கவுரை வழங்கினார். பா.வே.மா.த.மன்றத்தின் ஆசிரிய‌ ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் திரு. மு. பாலசுப்பிரமணி அவர்கள் நிகழ்ச்சியை தொகுத்து வழங்கினார்.  கவிதைப் போட்டியின் நடுவராக எஸ்.ஆர்.எம். கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் துணைப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் யாழினி முனுசாமி அவர்கள் மற்றும் பேச்சுப் போட்டியின்  நடுவராக எஸ்.ஆர்.எம். மேலாண்மையியல் புலம் துணைப் பேராசிரியை முனைவர்‌ க. மகேஸ்வரி அவர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர். இப்போட்டிகளில் பல்வேறு துறை மாணவ - மாணவிகள் மற்றும் ஆய்வறிஞர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு போட்டியை மேலும் சிறப்பித்தனர்.

 31.05.2024 அன்று இணையவழியில் பரிசளிப்பு நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது.  போட்டிகளில் வெற்றிப் பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு முதல் பரிசு 500 ரூபாய், இரண்டாம் பரிசு 300 ரூபாய், மூன்றாம் பரிசு 200 ரூபாய் என்னும் விதத்தில் பரிசுகள்  வழங்கப்பட்டன. இந்நிகழ்வில் தமிழ்ப்பேராயத் தலைவர் கலைமாமணி முனைவர் கரு. நாகராசன் அவர்கள் மற்றும் எஸ்.ஆர்.எம்.‌ பல்கலைக்கழக வளாக வாழ்வு இணை இயக்குநர்  முனைவர் வ. திருமுருகன்‌ அவர்கள், பா.வே.மா.த. மன்றம் ஆசிரிய ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் திரு. மு. பாலசுப்பிரமணி‌ அவர்கள், தமிழ்ப்பேராய துணைப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் ஜே. ஜெகத்ரட்சகன் அவர்கள் ,பா.வே.மா.த.மன்றம் பொறுப்பாளர்கள் மற்றும்‌ பல்வேறு துறை மாணவ - மாணவிகள் பங்கேற்றனர்.

Free Medical Camp at Anjur adopted village (18.05.2023)

 

    

SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan SRMIST has conducted free medical camp for village members at Anjur adopted village on 18-05-2024 Saturday. Camp was conducted at the government School located in the village which is easily accessible for the village peoples. Camp started by morning 10.00 AM. This camp is totally team work which consist of medical and health professionals from various departments of SRM hospital. This General medical camp comprises of professionals and physicians from Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dermatology, Gynecology, Audiology and Speech therapy. All are treated with free consultation, medication, diagnosis. Patients who need further and regular checkup and treatments were referred to SRM general hospital provided with free treatment card. Free food is being given when coming for treatment in hospital. This regular camping will improve the health status of the village members and very helpful for the early detection, diagnosis and also the treatment or therapeutic procedures. People who needs medical care were referred to the respective departments and go through detailed evaluation and recommended for the treatment procedures. By 1:30 we have covered almost all the households of the village and people got benefitted with the camp and showed their gratitude towards the doctors and health professionals.

Free Dental Camp at Orathur adopted village (16.05.2024)

 

    The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College & Hospital and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan organized screening camp at Orathur Village, Chengalpattu on 16/05/2024. The activities included dental screenings for oral mucosal lesions and educational sessions on the adverse effects of tobacco use. During our visit, we conducted a comprehensive dental screening for residents, focusing on identifying oral mucosal lesions and other oral health problems. 

The screening included visual examination and palpation to detect abnormalities such as leukoplakia, erythroplakia, and other suspicious lesions. Residents with identified lesions were advised on further diagnostic steps and potential treatments.  In addition to the dental screenings, we held educational sessions to inform residents about the dangers of tobacco use.

Workshop on preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan using Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (03.05.2024)

 

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of SRMIST organized a training session for UBA Coordinators and NSS Coordinators on preparation of GPDP (Gram Panchayat development Plan) using LSDGs (Localization of sustainable Development Goals) at SRMIST Campus. Session taken by Mr. Sharuk Khan, Faculty of SIRD&PR-Maraimalainagar. Programme started by 2:30PM in Vishveshvaraya hall of SRMIST. Before going into the session coordinators from NSS and UBA shared their experience on the community outreach program and challenges they faced during the program. Dr.V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director (CL) and Nodal Officer of UBA-SRMIST, welcome the chief Guest and honored him with a shawl and gift. Also welcomed all faculties for the session.

The session started with an overview of the importance of LSDGs and its relevance in the context of gram panchayats. Participants gained insights into how customizing global goals to local contexts can enhance community engagement and drive sustainable development initiatives. This session provided participants with guidelines and best practices for GPDP using LSDGs. Emphasis was placed on participatory approaches, community development and alignment with local priorities and resources. He explained in detail about role of academic institutions in preparation of GPDP which explained about Gram panchayat planning Facilitating Team (GPPFT), environment creation and community mobilization, Data collection- situation analysis etc. Resource person explained each LSDGs, and the activities comes under each goal and hoe PIs can perform these without any difficulties. Finally, he described about portal like Panchayat Development Index Portal. eswaraj portal etc. end of the session participants asked for some doubts and clarifications which is resolved by the resource person. Overall it was an informative session on LSDGs and its implementation on villages and its impact on the public.

World Health Day Celebration 2024 – Kolathur (30.04.2024)

 

In commemoration with the World Health Day, the Department of Clinical Nutrition, in association with Unnat Bharath Abhiyan, organized a Nutrition awareness camp on the theme "My Health, My Right" at Kolathur Village – Chengalpattu dist.  on 30.4.2024 for Self-help group women. The camp aimed to raise awareness about Preserving nutrients during cooking and promote overall health well-being through informed dietary choices.

Highlights of the Event:

Nutritional Awareness sessions were conducted to educate participants on the importance of preserving nutrients while cooking. Nutritional assessment was done for all the participants. Informative posters were exhibited, covering topics such as Using different types of metals for cooking, Implications of plastics in cooking and serving Processes, Benefits of whole grains and sprouts, Dietary considerations for PCOS, bone health, and anaemia. Students staged skits focusing on correct cooking techniques, strategies to increase protein content in food. Several videos were screened to demonstrate optimal cooking temperatures for vegetables, home gardening techniques for microgreens, methods to retain the color and nutrients of vegetables. Engaging quizzes were conducted to reinforce participants' understanding of nutrient-preserving techniques. A comprehensive talk on balanced diet principles was led by Ms. Nandhini. G, followed by an interactive Q&A session. The camp served as a platform for the community to learn about the significance of nutrition in maintaining good health. It empowered individuals to make informed dietary choices for a healthier lifestyle.
