Workshop on Understanding Instructions & Questions in Examination for the STD. VII students of Anjur Government School (11. 3. 2024)

 

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) – SRMIST & Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering In association with IEEE SRM Student Branch, Kattankulathur collaborated with Dr.M.M.Uma Maheswari, Asst.Prof.. SG, Department of English and Foreign Languages and organized a Workshop on Understanding Instructions & Questions in Examination for the STD. VII students of Anjur Government School on 11. 3. 2024 (Monday) from 1.00 PM to 4.00 PM

Dr.M.M.Uma Maheswari taught techniques of understanding the action verbs and subsequently understanding the instructions in the question papers. She demonstrated the practical application of the techniques through old std. seven question papers from other districts and discuss with them how to understand and questions and how to give appropriate answer to the particular questions. She clearly discussed all the parts of the question paper and grammar elements so that they can easily answer and score higher marks without fear. At last she projected some kind of questions and ask the students to answer one by one, students actively participated in the session and enjoyed learning new things and they become much more confident to face the examinations without any hesitation or fear.

My India Village Visit-III Social Mapping & Cleaning the Government School – SP Koil 09.03.2024

 

   

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, under the collage of science and humanities students for second-year BS and BSc Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics students, along with faculty members, visited SP Koil, Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu.  Mainly, this event is for a social map survey about the number of hospitals, temples, electricity boards, water tanks, lakes, streets, schools, PWD, etc. Further, we done cleaning program in S.P. Kovil Government Higher Secondary School. Students Contributed their service. The aim of this project is to provide our SRM institutions with a set of at least three villages and local communities to address development challenges through appropriate technologies so that these institutions can contribute to the economic and social betterment of these village communities using their knowledge base. rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth.  Development and survey of the village, covering topics such as rural sanitation, toilets, drainage management, drinking water, road development, road evaluation and reinforcement, water conservation, health, and drought, among others. Students, faculty, and researchers contribute to innovative solutions for improving village life.

SELP HELP GROUP WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS – PRODUCTS BUSINESS MARKETING at SRMIST – 8th & 9th March 2024

 

    On 8th March 2024, the Department of ECE and IEEE SSIT (Society of Social Implication of Technology) affinity group of IEEE SRM SB organized a Rural Women Entrepreneur Meet on Women at SRMIST. The event aimed to create a platform for rural women entrepreneurs to come together, share their experiences, and discuss challenges and opportunities in their businesses. The event was attended by rural women entrepreneurs from different parts of the district. The attendees were from various fields such as textiles and food processing. The participants were from different age groups and backgrounds, which made the event more diverse and enriching. The Rural Women Entrepreneur Meet began with IEEE SSIT SRM students and Faculty advisor Dr. T. Deepa going to the stalls and talking to them. They spoke about their challenges, such as lack of access to finance and markets, and how they overcame them. They also shared their success stories and encouraged other women entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. They also showcased their various items, such as handicrafts, textiles, food processing, etc. At last, pictures were taken of these amazing women. The Rural Women Entrepreneur Meet was a great success. It provided a platform for rural women entrepreneurs to come together, share their experiences, and learn from each other. The event aimed to empower rural women through entrepreneurship and create a more inclusive and equitable society.

An Outreach Program on IGNITING CREATIVITY, EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES – Anjur (04.03.2024)

 

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) – SRMIST & Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering In Association Department of Networking and Communication and School of computing, Kattankulathur organized an Outreach Program on Igniting Creativity, Empowering Communities for the students of Anjur Government School on 04. 03. 2024 morning 10:00AM.

The total program was divided into 4 sessions which are inauguration, drawing competition, quiz & hand painting and prize distribution. As per the plan the program started with a wonderful inaugural session in the presence of SRMIST faculties, students and School headmaster. After the inauguration drawing completion was started for the students of class 7^th, 8^th and 9^th. Students registered for competition was arranged in 3 classrooms and given with the topics – global warming, Nature and future India. Students showcased their talent with their beautiful thought process and after the drawing they are provided with quiz questions and asked to fill the sheets and our students from SRMIST done hand paintings for the interested students and they enjoyed getting their hands painted with their favorite wordings and also cartoon characters. In this time being faculties of SRMIST gone through the drawings and selected the best three drawings for the prize distribution.

All students from the school gathered in front of the school stage for the prize distribution session. Prize distributed by Dr.V.Thirumurugan, Associate Director (Campus Life) & Nodal officer of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan for the selected students and he appreciated the students for their marvelous thoughts and encouraged them to continue the same. After this all the students got a set of stationary items like Notebook, Pen, Pencil, Scale, Sketch pen etc. which is sponsored by Biju’s the Indian Educational Company. Students were so happy and thanked SRM for the wonderful and Memorable Day.

My India Village Visit-II Cleaning and Painting Government School – Venbakkam 02.03.2024

 

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, under the collage of science and humanities students for second-year BS and BSc Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics students, along with faculty members, visited the Government School of Kolathur-Vembakkam village, Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu. Students Contributed their service by cleaning and painting the classroom walls and also the compound wall of the school. They started with the cleaning process of whole school and its compound then after that they painted the walls. Students engaged in the societal activity very enthusiastically. During this child from the village joined with the SRMIST students and thanked them for making their school surrounding cleaning and new look of the school.
