“GO GREEN & SAVE GREEN”

On 22.04.2023 (Saturday) Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of SRM Institute of Science and technology collided with Universal human value cell - SRMIST organized a Bicycle Rally and Tree Plantation programme on the theme “INVEST IN OUR EARTH”.

The event was felicitated by Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director, Campus Life SRMIST and he gave an informative talk about the need to celebrate the earth day and how we can protect our mother earth from various environmental issues through our day to day activities and how we can contribute for the protection earth for the future generation.The Rally was presided by Dr. P. Supraja coordinator universal human value cell

 

It was attended enthusiastically, about 15 members participated which includes university students, teaching and non-teaching faculties and Research scholars of SRM Institute of Science and Technology Katankulathur campus. The bicycle rally started at 6:30 am from SRM campus clock tower and proceeded to Maraimalai nagar municipality via nearby villages and covered around12 kms on the way near Potheri Lake the team has planted about 50 sapling on the lake shores which is a simple and great investment to our mother earth. During the Rally we created awareness on different types of pollution and how it harm the earth  and  advised the people to protect the earth by planting more trees, reduce the pollution, saving fuels, about green environment etc.

At the end students shared their experience from the rally and also thanked the University for the Wonderful Chance given to them for being a part of this societal cause.

CAMPUS CLEANLINESS DRIVE 20 April 2023

 

Campus Cleanliness Drive was conducted at SRMIST, Kattankulathur campus on 20.04.2023 at 10:00 AM by the NSS volunteers from BBA classes of College of Management, in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur – 603 203.

The program was inaugurated by the overall NSS Coordinator of SRMIST, Dr. Lakshmanan. Followed by the inauguration, the welcome address was given by the NSS Program Coordinator, Dr. K. Maheswari, Assistant Professor, College of Management and Dr. V.M. Shenbagaraman, Professor and Chairperson, Education Program, College of Management and Dr. Selvasundaram, Head, Department of Commerce, College of Science and Humanities have done the felicitation address. The program was headed by Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director and Nodal Officer of UBA.

In the Campus Cleanliness Drive, 70 NSS volunteers participated and cleaned whole campus by collecting a total of 90 kg of degradable and non-degradable solid waste which include glass bottles, tins, cans, plastic wastes, etc. found in and around the campus.

 Mr. N.S.Sridhar, UBA cell ,Estate office  SRMIST and . Mrs. Anju Intern UBA cell encouraged the students throughout the program. At the end of the program, the following pledge was taken.

I shall do my best for protecting the earth and its natural environment.

I shall also adopt such practices that would minimize wastage.

I shall reuse whatever I can.

I shall take care to clean up the environment.

I shall reduce the waste we create.

I shall plant more trees.

I shall conserve energy and water.

At last, students would be provided with refreshment by the college.

 

UBA- SRMIST conducted free medical camp in Nattarasanpattu Village

 Unnat Bharat Abhiyan SRMIST has conducted free medical camp in  adopted village on 06-04-2023 Thursday as part of celebrating Upcoming World Health day of the year 2023. Camp was conducted at the Vadamelpakkam e-seva Centre at of Nattarasanpattu panchayat which is easily accessible for the village peoples .Camp started by morning 10.00am. This camp is totally team work which consist of medical and health professionals from various departments of SRM hospital .

Totally 18 team members, This General medical camp comprise of Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dermatology Checkup were carried out. Totally 82 people undergone general health checkup 4 male & 78 females. All are treated with free consultation, medication, diagnosis. Patients who need further and regular checkup and treatments were referred to SRM general hospital provided with free.

treatment card. Free food is being given when coming for treatment in hospital. This regular camping will improve the health status of the village members and very helpful for the early detection, diagnosis and also the treatment or therapeutic procedures. People who needs medical care were referred to the respective departments and go through detailed evaluation and recommended for the treatment procedures. By 1:30 we have covered almost all the households of the village and people got benefitted with the camp and showed their gratitude towards the doctors and health professionals.

MEDICAL CAMP - 5TH April 2023 – KOLATHUR VILLAGE

  Unnat Bharat Abhiyan SRMIST has conducted free medical camp in kolathur adopted village on 05-04-2023 Wednesday as part of celebrating Upcoming World Health day of the year 2023. Camp was conducted at the Shiva temple at Venbakkam of Kolathur panchayat which is easily accessible for the village peoples.

 

Camp started by morning 10.00am. This camp is totally team work which consist of medical and health professionals from various departments of SRM hospital .Totally 18 team members, This General medical camp comprise of Optometry with general eye checkup and those who need special attention and care were referred to the department of ophthalmology , Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dermatology Checkup were carried out in presence of Dr.V.Thirumurugan., Associate Director (CL) & Nodal Officer UBA/SBM-SRMIST . Totally 90 people undergone general health checkup 19 male, 69 females, 1 male child and 1 female child. All are treated with free consultation, medication, diagnosis. Patients who need further and regular checkup and treatments were referred to SRM general hospital provided with free treatment card. Free food is being given when coming for treatment in hospital. This regular camping will improve the health status of the village members and very helpful for the early detection, diagnosis and also the treatment or therapeutic procedures. People who needs medical care were referred to the respective departments and go through detailed evaluation and recommended for the treatment procedures.
