STEM LEARNING FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN IN ANJUR AND ORATHUR VILLAGES

 

STEM activities are a great way to get students interested in technology careers. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized STEM LEARNING FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN IN ANJUR AND ORATHUR VILLAGES in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) on 29^th June 2022 in SRM adopted villages – Anjur & Orathur.

  

 School children are encouraged through the training program “STEM LEARNING FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN IN ANJUR AND ORATHUR VILLAGES”. The purpose of training conducted among school children is to create awareness of technology, the concept of Robots working, and the Internet of things – principles and its applications.  The internet of things is a growing technology that utilizes data collected by devices from across the globe. Mr C. Srinivasan M.Tech & Team, CEO, Polenza Technologies OPC Pvt. Ltd, Chengalpet, Tamilnadu demonstrated the working of Robot, and IoT devices.

On 1^st March 2022 under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, SRMIST celebrated National Science Day 2022 at Orathur Panchayat Union Middle School.

The program was started with “Tamil ThaaiVazhthu” song by students. Dr. T.Deepa, Associate professor of ECE has formally welcomed Panchayat president of orathur village, coordinators, Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Nodal Officer of UBA SRMIST, teachers and school children.

Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Nodal officer of UBA-SRMIST has presided the Science day program and delivered the address. In his Presidential address he said, SRMIST is one of the very well-known higher education institution in the country and we are active and interest in participating in events like this. He said SRMIST will always continue their work in development of villages and Govt. schools.

Then the cultural programs has been conducted many students were actively participated in dance.

Next Session was the Science Fair and Expo competition which was organized by school where they showcased different experiments and innovations of students. By observing all hard work with different ideas of students judges categorized first, second and third position of participants. Then we conducted drawing and essay competition among interested students based on the theme “Science Day”. Among the best we categorized participants into first, second and third positions.

After completion of all competition we distributed prizes to winners. Finally the Program ended with vote of Thanks given by UBA-SRMIST team and HM of the School.

In April 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 3 as “World Bicycle Day”

     

The resolution for World Bicycle Day reads, "Recognizes the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of a bicycle that has been in use for over two centuries, and it's a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally friendly mode of transport” and it is observed that cycling has tremendous health benefits for all age groups.

Today, June 3^rd 2022 on the eve of World Bicycle Day, SRMIST took pride to organize a bicycle rally for a cause with the theme “Save Fuel and Stay Fit”. Students and faculty members participated in large numbers and explained the benefits of using bicycles to the public through posters & slogans. In continuation of this cause, it was decided to start a SRMIST Bicycle Club.

The rally was led by Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director & Nodal Officer 

-Unnat Bharat Abhiyan-SRMIST and coordinated by Dr.P.Supraja, Associate Professor, NWC-SRMIST.
