The Founder Chancellor of SRM Group, Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, who is also a Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha from the Perambalur Constituency, has transferred the money collected to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.

Ms. Anju and Dr. P.Keerthi, Project Associates of UBA SRMIST has given Awareness speech on COVID-19 in two different languages (English and Tamil) which is being telecasting in SRM FM Muthucharam (90.4).
We prepared video on how to make liquid soap at home by using home made products to give awareness during shortage of soaps which is available in market because hand washing is the best method to prevent us from corona. The video has been uploaded in Our YouTube channel.
SRM Hospital has started separate corona Isolation wards with 100 beds for the corona patients. Also it has quarantine wards with capacity of holding 200 members who comes with suspection and symptoms of Corona. TamilNadu Health Minister Dr. C. VIJAYABASKAR has visited the SRM Hospital to monitor the availability of equipment and necessity during Corona crisis.

Fablab SRMIST has developed 3D printed Head set/ face shield for the Health workers working during COVID crisis. It’s basically a 3D printed head set design modified by students Harsh Mattoo and Anurag Atulya of SRMIST. The Acrylic sheets and other material was procured and is laser cut in Fablab and assembled. Design changes made as per request of the doctors. They made 550 3D printed face shields and donated it to SRM Hospital.

And Fablab has also designed the Automated AMBU machine to assist ventilation for SRM Hospital. The current global pandemic due to the Covid19 virus causes illness that can lead to a patient landing in Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) requiring Ventilation to assist in the recovery. There are not enough ventilators available in the government and private sectors combined and multiple efforts are ongoing to find a solution. Groups of scientists, engineers and doctors across the globe are involved in the testing, trying and treating of this problem.

After multiple discussions with critical care physicians, anesthetists and pulmonologists, and after reading through published literature on Mechanical ventilation, the following solution is proposed as an Automated AMBU Bag.

Students from CSE department of SRMIST has created an app to self - assessment to identify the symptoms of corona and it also provides updates on spread of  corona in India.

Furthermore we are planning to donate grocery items for 50 households in adopted village for ST community people. We will continue our work to fight against corona.
